The Honourable Martine St-Louis, a lawyer from McCarthy Tétrault in Montréal, was appointed Judge of the Federal Court in Ottawa on April 10, 2014.

Madam Justice St-Louis received a bachelor’s degree in law from the Université de Montréal in 1987 and was called to the Quebec Bar in 1988. She began her career at Québecor Inc. and then practised law at Ogilvy Renault (Norton Rose) from 1991 to 2000, at Heenan Blaikie from 2000 to 2001, and then at McCarthy Tétrault from 2001 until her appointment to the Federal Court in 2014. Her main fields of practice were immigration law, administrative law and labour law.

Justice St-Louis has actively participated in many professional organizations, including the Canadian Bar Association, Immigration Section, and the Association des avocats et avocates en droit de l’immigration.
