Kevin R. Aalto
Born, April 18, 1948 in Timmins, Ontario. Educated at Victoria University, University of Toronto (1970 B.A. (Hons.)) in history and political science. Graduated Osgoode Hall Law School of York University (LL.B. 1973). Called to the Bar of Ontario (1975 with Honours). Articled at MacKinnon, McTaggart and then practiced with Perry, Farley & Onyschuk. Joined Strathy, Archibald & Seagram in June 1979 as an associate and subsequently as a partner. Since 1989, a partner with Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP in Toronto. Practice focussed on corporate, commercial and insolvency litigation.
Lecturer at the Bar Admission Course; Speaker at various Continuing Legal Education seminars presented by the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Ontario Bar Association, Osgoode Hall Law School Professional Development and The Advocates’ Society; Director of the The Advocates' Society, 2003 - 2005; Chair of the Editorial Board, Learned Friends: A Tribute to Fifty Remarkable Ontario Advocates, 1950 - 2000; Member of many bench and bar committees dealing with Case Management and Access to Justice issues; President and Chair of the Board of Tafelmusik, 2005 – 2007.
